Facing Giants

A few hours ago I started preparing for a major life change. I was in geekdom and loving it! As I got comfortable and was planning how I may complete the course by a specific date, the light began to flicker. Before I could react the light was gone. The house went dark. I calmly went downstairs. Rummaged through a drawer for some batteries and lit the emergency lamp.

For the first time in more than a year the light was gone. All the excuses to quit my preparation work came to mind. I was about to go to bed when I heard a calm small  voice within me say.

“This is the Season of Champions”.

I began speaking to myself. “Do not give up. Get back in the office and study. Other people in the world are studying by lamplight. You studied at one time using lamplight. Do not change your mind because of a little inconvenience.”

You know what happened next. I went back into the home office. Pointed a flashlight at my book and continued to study.

As we enter the season of Champions expect to be challenged in almost every area of your life. All hell may seem to break loose. Please take a seat. I am about to give you some news. It has.

Now do not panic. Definitely DO NOT BE AFRAID. God is making your enemies visible. The light will expose everything hidden. Expect to face all your giants. The greatest giant you will face is within – your flesh. The flesh must be disciplined to surrender to the work God is doing in you.

Your giant may be different from mine. Know this we all have them. Both inside and outside. Those on the outside are easiest to identify. Those on the inside, now that’s a different matter. They are our familiar patterns that keep us in bondage. Many of us have accepted them as our identity. We identify with this disfunction. “This is just who I am”. “My truth”.

God will expose it as a lie from Satan. Expect to be delivered from old cycles and seasons. God is empowering you to break those patterns.

Breaking free begins with surrender. Yielding to the work God is doing in you and through you. The work begins by filling yourself with the Word of God and building an altar of prayer. Build from the inside out. Hide the word of God in your heart by meditating on it day and night. Only then will you have true success.

This morning my meditation and motivation is “diligent hands will rule” (Proverbs 12:24). It is the Kingdom Law of Diligence. That fuels my hope.

God is awakening the champion in you. Stand up. Be counted. You are more than able to overcome.

Ps. Please do not think this is a quick process. God builds champions slowly but ‘most assuredly’.

Selah!
