Are you quick to dismiss your dreams? You shouldn’t.
God has many means of speaking to us. Two major ways He speaks to us are through dreams and visions.
The next time you dream be sure to write it in your prayer journal. Then seek the interpretation of the dream. Ask God to provide you with the interpretation (see Daniel 2, Genesis 40:8, and Genesis 41). Search the Bible to gain understanding.
They said to him, “We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them.” And Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”
~ Genesis 40:8
Some online dream interpretation websites can be good sources. Just be careful! Avoid websites that do not use the Bible as their source. You do not want to draw from a polluted well. Most of them are steeped in astrology and folktales. That as you are aware, is rooted in witchcraft. The Bible must be your plumb line. Your source for understanding. Anything that comes from God will agree with His Word.
If the dream spurs you to take action, act quickly. Pray based on the revelation. Then act. God may be showing you something that may save your life. Please do not be hasty to dismiss your dreams.
The Attack
On Monday I worked an early morning shift. Came home before dawn, and went to bed. God was so good. He gave me a very long dream. I will spare you most of the details. One thing that stood out was that I was repeatedly attacked by a ferocious black Pitbull with flaming red eyes. The dog chased me twice and I ran. The third time I got angry. Suddenly turned and slapped it with a long stick. The animal yelled out in shock, whimpered, and took off running.
I was a bit disturbed by the dream. I knew the dream meant the enemy would try to attack me. However, God clearly showed that there would be triumph. That would not stop me.
Later in the night, I went back to work. Everything went well until it was time to leave. Clocking out became a process. The time clock would not allow me to clock out. Then the work app on the phone began to show some weird work hours for the day. It took some minutes to correct everything. Finally, most of the errors were corrected and I left for home.
While taking the long trek home there were hardly any vehicles on the road. To ensure I remained alert and attentive I prayed in the spirit, worshipped, and drove a little lower than the speed limit.
Forty minutes later, I got the surprise of my life! From the corner of my left eye, I saw a big beige blur racing towards the vehicle. It took a second before it crashed into the side of the vehicle. Luckily my two hands were firmly on the wheel. Everything jerked a little. A piece of metal from the car became airborne and landed over the top.
It was like I was in a dream. Co-workers had warned me to look out for deer crossing the road at night or very early morning. I had witnessed one crossing the road on early Friday morning as myself and other co-workers drove home. Never had I ever thought that I would be greeted so unceremoniously by one. That thing slammed with all its might into the vehicle.
Thank God for His warning. After getting the dream I prayed. God was so good He woke my wife to pray at 2:30 AM in the morning. the very moment I was driving home! I will not speculate about how bad it could have been. I just thank God that He gave me a dream and had my dear wife praying. The vehicle was damaged but I did not get any injuries. Not even a ache or pain.
That is the power of prayer! As He speaks respond.
Pray and Not Faint
The next time God gives you a dream. Pay attention! Record it in your prayer journal. Ask your Heavenly Father to grant you understanding of the dream and the wisdom concerning how to act. It may save your life or someone else. You may not know the person. That does not matter. Be sure to pray. If you do not know how to pray. Pray in your heavenly language with all your heart. The Holy Spirit knows how to effectively pray the perfect will of God. Just take action! Pray!
Be blessed!
