Matthew 27:3-5
3 When Judas, His betrayer, saw that [Jesus] was condemned, [Judas was afflicted in mind and troubled for his former folly; and] with remorse [with little more than a selfish dread of the consequences] he brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in betraying innocent blood. They replied, What is that to us? See to that yourself.
5 And casting the pieces of silver [forward] into the [Holy Place of the sanctuary of the] temple, he departed; and he went off and hanged himself.

They replied, What is that to us? See to that yourself. And casting the pieces of silver [forward] into the [Holy Place of the sanctuary of the] temple, he departed; and he went off and hanged himself.
This is a rather sad turn of events. Judas (Hebrew Judah, meaning praise) had betrayed Jesus. his payment for the deed was 30 pieces of silver. That paid for a slave. On seeing how they had treated Jesus and his response to the abuse and torture he was repentant. And immediately set out to make amends. He went back to the priest and religious leaders who had paid him. Returned the money and pleaded for the freedom of Jesus. Unfortunately he was too late. They finally had what they wanted.
Jesus had evaded them. He had ridiculed them. Made them seem hypocritical before the people. And had undermined their authority. Many of the people were no longer following them because of him. Nothing less than the death of Jesus would satisfy.
There is Pardon For All
Had Judas understood the love of Jesus, he would not have allowed condemnation to overwhelm him. He had walked with Jesus for most of his ministry. Yet he did not know the heart of God. He did not know the ways of Jesus. He was like his forefathers who walked closely with God in the wilderness. They saw the acts of God but they never took the time to know his ways. Judas saw all that Jesus did. He himself had healed many people in the name of Jesus. He had preached the gospel to the poor and told others of the Kingdom of God. Yet he lacked understanding of the ways of God.
We must ask God to give us an understanding heart. If we lack understanding condemnation and guilt for our missteps and misdeeds will separate us from the love of our Father. ‘What can separate us from the love of God. Neither height nor depth’. Nothing in all creation!
His love is fierce!
Judas would have experienced the same restoration given to the disciples. They abandoned Jesus. Peter rejected him three times to save his skin. Although they abandoned him his heart remained tender towards them. After Jesus was resurrected he visited all of them. Each of them were restored. Understanding of who He is and all that was said of Him by the prophets. Judas would have received this same gift. All guilt, all shame would have been removed. He would have been restored.
Have you done something that you think is unpardonable before God? Know this truth. He stands willing to forgive all sins. He will remove the burden of guilt, shame and condemnation. Just ask Him for forgiveness. Receive His love and fullness.
Seek Help
If you are contemplating suicide talk with someone. Let them now how you are feeling. Suicide may seem like a solution but it is not. It only removes the possibility of restoration and your experiencing the joy of change.
It is very important that you are connected to a church body. The Lord Jesus has set Pastors and elders to help their members. They have a charge to watch over the souls of the people. Reach out to them. Take advantage of the services offered to people contemplating suicide.
May I be frank. If the church is powerless to help. Consider going to another. Jesus has given us power and authority to set the captives free. Anyone suffering with thoughts of suicide is a captive. One moment of prayer can set that person free.

James 5:16
Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Prayer of Deliverance from
Father, in the name of Jesus. I come before you today.
Father my heart is heavy. For my brother and sister who is reading this right now. The Devil is trying to shift him/her like wheat. He is trying to push them to take their life by their own hands.
At this moment their outlook seems hopeless. They think there is no way out.
I know that is a lie from the very pit of hell. You always make a way of escape.
Just as the sun rises each morning after a period of darkness so will the new day come to them filled with joy. Filled with peace. Filled with hope.
I take authority over every vile and wicked thought right now in the name of Jesus. I command them to go. I speak peace to their mind, right now in the name of Jesus. Wash it with the blood of Jesus.
The entrance of your word gives light. It brings life and life more abundantly.
take their life. I am burdened. I am oppressed by thoughts that are not good. Thoughts about harming myself. Thoughts that are pushing me to take my life.
I know you love me. I know you can do all things. Cleanse me of these oppressive thoughts and desires. I surrender them all to you. Cleanse my mind by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
your You said that you came so that I may have life and life more abundantly. I surrender these thoughts to you. Cleans my mind. I receive your abundant right now. I believe you are able to make a way when there seems like there is none. I surrender my thoughts to you. Set me free from this bondage. Fill me with your joy and peace. Cleanse me and make me whole. Amen!
Lord Jesus I thank you for answering my cry.
